Step 4: Fill the Application Form
If you are applying online, follow the steps on the official website to fill out the application form (Form 6).
- Fill in your personal details, including your name, address, and date of birth.
- Upload your photograph and scanned copies of the required documents (if applying online).
Step 5: Submit the Application
After filling out the form, submit the application. If applying online, you may also receive an email or SMS confirmation regarding your application status. For offline applications, submit the form along with the required documents at your local office.

Once your application is received, you will receive an acknowledgment receipt containing a reference number. Keep this receipt safe as you can use it to track the status of your application.

You can track the status of your voter ID card application using the reference number via the official NVSP website.
Step 8: Receive Your Voter ID Card
Once processed, your voter ID card will be sent to your registered address. You can also download the e-Voter ID from the official portal.
How to Correct Your Voter ID Card
If there are any mistakes in your Voter ID card (e.g., spelling mistakes in your name, incorrect date of birth, address issues, etc.), you can easily request a correction online or offline.
Steps to Correct Voter ID Card:
- Step 1: Visit the National Voters’ Services Portal (NVSP) or the Election Commission's website.
- Step 2: Log in with your details and go to the 'Correction in Voter ID' section.
- Step 3: Fill out the correction form (Form 8) and provide the necessary documents supporting your request for correction (e.g., a valid government ID for correcting name spelling, proof of address for address change, etc.).
- Step 4: Submit the form and documents.
- Step 5: After verification, you will be notified about the status of your correction request.
Alternatively, you can also correct your Voter ID offline by visiting the Electoral Registration Office (ERO) and submitting the necessary documents for the correction.
